This Privacy Policy describes how the OQR mobile application (“OQR”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App on iOS or Android. We have designed OQR to be a privacy‑respecting tool: the App does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email, and stores your portfolio and price‑alert data on your device.
By installing or using OQR, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the developer of OQR acts as the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the App.
require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth; collect your contacts, photos, microphone input, calendar, health data, or files; track your precise location (GPS) or background location; read your SMS, call logs, or browsing history; sell your personal information to anyone.
a. Information stored only on your device The App stores the following items locally using the device’s secure on‑device storage (AsyncStorage). This information is never transmitted to a server we operate:
your portfolio entries (metal type, weight in grams, hallmark purity, optional purchase price, date added); your price alerts (target price, metal, condition, repeat setting, last‑triggered time); your in‑app preferences (language, currency, unit, the calculator’s last purity and weight, ring‑sizer calibration, home‑screen background, and a launch counter used to decide when to introduce Premium and the widgets); a local record of the prices the App has fetched, used to draw charts; the last fetched prices, exchange rates and news headlines, so the App can show them when offline. Premium status is not stored by the App: it is read from the App Store through RevenueCat each time the App starts. You can delete this information at any time by removing individual items inside the App or by uninstalling the App.
b. Information processed when fetching market data To display live gold and silver prices, the App makes HTTPS requests directly from your device to: api.gold-api.com (world metal prices); nbg.gov.ge (the National Bank of Georgia’s public API, for exchange rates and the gold-bar certificate); and open.er-api.com (a fallback exchange-rate source). The App also reads pre-built price files we publish at oqr-data.pages.dev, which is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. These requests include standard technical information such as your IP address and a generic User-Agent string. We do not receive your identity from any of them, and we do not control how those providers process the requests; please see their own privacy notices.
c. Information related to in‑app purchases (Premium) OQR Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — you pay once and it stays. The purchase itself is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive your payment card or billing details. We use RevenueCat to verify purchases; RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user ID, the product purchased, and transaction metadata (purchase date, renewal status, country) so that we can verify your entitlement to Premium features. RevenueCat may also process a hashed device identifier and IP address. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.
d. Push notifications The App can send you local price alerts (for example, when gold rises 1% above the current price). These notifications are scheduled and delivered on your device using the operating system’s local notification framework. No push server is involved. The content of an alert (e.g. “Gold price exceeded $2,400”) is generated locally and is not sent through our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
e. Advertising and tracking OQR contains no advertising. There is no ad SDK in the app, no advertising identifier (IDFA or AAID) is read, and nothing about you is used for tracking or shared with an ad network. Because there is nothing to ask permission for, the App Tracking Transparency prompt never appears. Premium is what funds the app instead.
f. Diagnostics We do not currently operate our own analytics backend. Apple and Google may share aggregate, non‑identifying crash and performance data with us through App Store Connect / Google Play Console if you have not opted out at the OS level. We use this only to improve stability.
show you live gold and silver prices and the historical chart; calculate the value of items in your portfolio and any profit or loss; trigger price alerts you have configured; verify and restore your Premium entitlement;
detect and fix crashes and abusive use (e.g. rate‑limiting purchase attempts). We do not use your information for profiling, scoring, automated decision‑making with legal effects, or for any purpose unrelated to operating the App.
Performance of a contract — to provide the core App functionality you have requested, including verifying Premium subscriptions. Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, prevent abuse, and improve stability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time.
Apple and Google, when you purchase, restore, or cancel a subscription, or when push notifications are delivered to your device. RevenueCat, to manage subscription entitlements. gold-api.com, the National Bank of Georgia, exchangerate-api.com and Cloudflare, when your device requests market data. Law enforcement or regulators, if required by a valid legal process — although in practice we have very little information to share, because we do not operate user accounts.
International transfers gold-api.com, Cloudflare, Apple, Google and RevenueCat operate globally. When you use OQR, technical requests may be processed in the United States or other countries outside your country of residence. These providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms for international data transfers.
Data retention Portfolio items, alerts, and preferences remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. RevenueCat retains purchase records for as long as your Premium purchase is valid and for a limited period afterwards for accounting and fraud‑prevention purposes. Apple / Google retain transaction records according to their own retention schedules. We do not maintain server‑side copies of your portfolio or alerts.
Your rights Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent); data portability; lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because the vast majority of your data lives only on your device, the fastest way to exercise most of these rights is to delete items inside the App or uninstall the App. For requests involving subscription data, please email ratiliklikadze@gmail.com with the email address associated with your Apple ID or Google account so we (and RevenueCat) can locate the record. We will respond within 30 days.
California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising: the app carries no advertising at all. You may submit requests to the email above.
Children’s privacy OQR is intended for users aged 13 and over (16 in some jurisdictions). It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Security We use industry‑standard measures to protect information in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and rely on the platform sandbox to protect data stored on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but because OQR avoids collecting personal data in the first place, the privacy impact of any incident is limited.
Third‑party links and services The App contains links to third‑party websites and services (for example, the news outlets whose headlines the app lists, and our Instagram and TikTok pages). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. Please review their privacy policies before using them.
Changes to this Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, we will notify users through an in‑app notice or release notes. Continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
